A groundbreaking documentary is currently under development, focusing on the intricate four-year cycle of Bitcoin and the journey of David Bailey, who is at the helm of BTC Inc. and serves as chairman and CEO of Nakamoto Inc. The filmmaker, Parker Worthington, highlights that this project delves into a crucial period for Bitcoin.
Worthington remarked during an appearance on the Bitcoin Magazine live desk at the Bitcoin 2026 Conference that the making of this documentary has been an extensive endeavor.
Entitled This Time Is Different, with collaboration from Michael Markle, the documentary initially aimed to spotlight Bitcoin payments. Early filming commenced in 2024, focusing on the foundational aspects of Bitcoin.
However, the narrative evolved as Worthington frequently collaborated with Bailey’s team, starting in Puerto Rico. It was there that initial conversations about the public listing of the company began to emerge, albeit discreetly.
The documentary subsequently shifted its emphasis to encompass the public formation of Nakamoto Inc., which arose from a merger with KindlyMD. This strategic move was supported by an impressive capital raise of approximately $710 million, marking one of the largest PIPE financings associated with a digital asset firm at that time.
The film aspires to chronicle the comprehensive journey of a four-year Bitcoin cycle. It will reflect on the rollercoaster ride of launching a public Bitcoin enterprise, the responsibilities accompanying SEC compliance, and the tenacity needed to endure a bearish market while orchestrating a multi-entity consolidation.
David Bailey expressed his gratitude for capturing genuine moments on film, emphasizing the deep-seated passion required to thrive in the Bitcoin sector. He noted that many may perceive Bitcoin as a mere stroke of luck, yet the documentary aims to showcase the unwavering commitment essential for success in this realm.
According to Worthington, the outward chaos obscures a well-thought-out and multifaceted narrative. He points to Bitcoin Magazine, UTXO Management, BTC Inc., and Nakamotoβs extensive media and investment initiatives as proof of a substantial business with genuine revenue and influence.
Distribution discussions suggest a potential release in winter 2027, although this timeline may extend into 2028, contingent on the fluctuations of the broader cryptocurrency market.
This feature-length film promises to illuminate the complexities of Bitcoinβs landscape, showcasing both its triumphs and trials.
