Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, is optimistic about the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in accelerating the blockchain’s development timeline. He recently discussed an AI-driven project that successfully outlined a roadmap extending to 2030 in a matter of weeks, suggesting this method may become a valuable resource for developers.
Sharing his thoughts on social media, Buterin expressed admiration for the speed of this experiment, labelling it an impressive feat. He mentioned an earlier bet made with a developer regarding the use of AI to draft a reference implementation of the Ethereum roadmap, which has now yielded significant results.
Buterin noted that the integration of AI in coding could mean that the Ethereum roadmap might be completed sooner than initially anticipated and with a level of security that could exceed expectations. He referred to this innovative approach as “vibe coding,” where AI generates application code, thereby allowing for a quicker software creation process.
